Terry’s Picks: Emmy Rossum, Union Workers, Girls Revolt

Emmy Rossum: Good for Emmy Rossum, who would not sign on for the next season of Shameless (and subsequently delayed the show’s renewal!) until she was guaranteed a higher salary.

Union Workers: The New York Times ran a great feature on some of the crew women in TV & film production who fought to join the union in the 1960s and ’70s.

Girls Revolt: Good Girls Revolt, about women journalists fighting 1970s workplace sexism, has been canceled by Amazon. Not only did it receive excellent reviews and the strongest female viewership of all Amazon TV series, it also had an 80% viewer completion rate and an audience score of 97%. Creator Dana Calvo said no women were involved in the decision to cancel – a terrible instance of life imitating art. Did you like the show? Join the conversation online with #SaveGoodGirlsRevolt.
